Asia Purchasing Director

Act as a strategic business partner to China management and BU teams, supporting growth, profitability and execution priorities through effective purchasing support
Provide pragmatic purchasing input to major business and project decisions, balancing cost competitiveness, supply stability, quality and delivery requirements
Lead sourcing activities for raw materials, components, modules and systems to support ongoing operations and new project launches
Support RFQs, quotation evaluations and sourcing decisions to ensure competitiveness and on‑time project delivery
Drive supplier localization, alternative sourcing and optimization initiatives to enhance supply resilience and operational flexibility
Manage supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery, addressing issues that may impact production continuity or customer commitments
Provide purchasing support for key strategic initiatives in China, including large‑scale business and investment‑related projects
Work closely with project teams and functional stakeholders to enable timely and effective sourcing solutions that support project execution and operational readiness
Support China management and BU teams in achieving cost and productivity objectives through sourcing optimization and efficiency initiatives
Build and maintain professional working relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and effective issue resolution
Identify and mitigate supply risks that may affect business performance, project delivery or operational stability
Build, lead and develop a purchasing team that is business‑oriented, execution‑focused and responsive to China business needs, while promoting close collaboration with BU, Engineering, Operations and Finance teams
Apply China purchasing strengths and supplier capabilities to support cross‑regional collaboration and selected global business requirements where relevant
