DUTIES: Grupo Antolin Missouri, LLC seeks an Engineering Manager in Kansas City, MO. This position requires domestic travel, as needed, up to 15%. Responsible for all Engineering and Maintenance Staff. Lead plant initiatives in continuous improvements, will deliver operational needs as well as capital projects to guarantee that production equipment, processes and facilities meet the needs of the business. Customer representative for program management and engineering changes. The Engineering Manager oversees the planning and implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments are aligned and working toward shared goals. Responsible for directing the maintenance of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. In this position the Engineering Manager will direct and coordinate the following Management and delivery of the overall Engineering budget. Provide plant engineering and maintenance support for the Plant to meet customer requirements and plant goals. Plan, organize, and manage the engineering and installation of specific projects to meet business needs in growth and improve our position in safety, cost or quality. Capacity Planning responsible; constant analysis of volumes and capacity studies from customer to confirm. Evaluate and implement cost saving methods and keep management aware of the estimated costs of changes in product design. Apply the principles of statistical analysis to determine the feasibility of production processes. Ensure open line of communication between engineering and all support groups. Responsible for the safety and ergonomics of capital equipment purchased. Responsible for all the engineering department safety related matters. Promote and enforce engineering APQP deliveries among Project, Process/Controls Engineers. Process/Product Change Management Responsible Participation in Tolerancing and Geometrical specifications. Maintain plant quality performance standards. Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems to optimize product performance while minimizing cost. Direct tool repairs, equipment rebuilds and new capital equipment builds to maintain and align to customer delivery timing. Direct bill of materials creations and the establishment of cost structures and process routings within system. Direct lean principles throughout facility to drive overall efficiency. Review existing production schedules and prioritizes projects based on resources, current methods, and company requirements.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related Automotive Engineering occupation. Experience must include: Experience with Problem Solving techniques such as 8D, 5Y, and Ishikawa; Experience in use of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, including engineering functions BOMS, and Routings; Experience with Lean Manufacturing Tools such as 5S, 7 Waste, Visual management, Poka Yoke, Standard Work, TPM, SMED, VSM, TPA, Kanban, One piece flow; Experience with softwares GD&T, AutoCad and Layout optimizations; Experience with Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives; Experience in the usage of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems; Experience with Automotive Quality Core Tools such as APQP, FMEA, CP, PPAP, MSA and SPC; and Experience with automotive standards IATF: 16949 and ISO 14001.

 

OTHER: Domestic travel required up to 15% of the time.
